DOES TESTOSTERONE CAUSE YOUR BALLS TO SHRINK?
DOES TESTOSTERONE CAUSE YOUR BALLS TO SHRINK?
My fellow active guys over 30 years young, I know you want to keep pumping heavy iron at the gym, acting like a stallion in the bedroom, and keeping your energy levels up like you were in your 20’s as do I but I just want you to be careful and well educated in your quest to look for solutions. I have run into far too many guys including friends and family that have been started on or are thinking about testosterone replacement therapy and have not been well informed. You don’t understand how many facial expressions of surprise I’ve seen when I told them about testicular shrinkage and long-term effects due to the Negative Feedback Loop.
So, my name is Dan, and I am telling you this as a friend & someone who has researched this for years. I am always looking for an energy boost, and bottom line is -I just want to help people make good decisions about their health.
Why would you listen to me? I am living proof of trying TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) and have worked in these TRT clinics as a provider. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the pumps and increase in stamina that TRT injections provided, but I don’t like the consequences of my future. I encountered the Negative Feedback Loop and its found in synthetic hormones!
With my medical background and passion for men’s health, fitness, and hormones, I went back to the basics to help explain to the guys what this Negative Feedback Loop to testosterone replacement. In very simple terms, it is the method by which the brain receives signals from the body when something is lacking or has too much of. This very important concept keeps our bodies in balance which is called homeostasis. As this relates to receiving synthetic testosterone such as in forms of gels, injections, pellet implantation, or other forms – as the testosterone enters the body your testosterone levels begin to rise which entail sends a signal to your brain that there are adequate levels or more than enough testosterone in the body which in turn sends a signal to your testicles to stop or slow down natural testosterone production hence the Negative Feedback Loop. The longer this occurs and the longer the Leydig cells in the testicles are suppressed from its natural production of testosterone the sooner you will find decreases in testicular size and sperm production. The false connotation that men are getting is, that testosterone therapy will boost their natural testosterone production when in fact it really is doing the opposite!! It will cause you no longer produce your own natural production. It is sad to say but there are really not many medical studies or publications about long term testosterone use and testicular atrophy (shrinkage) or infertility but what I have found I have attached below. The literature I have found does state that it does cause these secondary issues as the Negative Feedback Loop is inevitable.
There are some solutions that can help with this but once again you may be dealing with taking another synthetic medication which possibly means more injections (like HCG) to try and counter this Negative Feedback Loop. You will need to speak with your medical provider about this to see your options or get more information.
Now to look on the brighter side, there are some natural supplements with scientific backing that have been known to stimulate male hormone signally pathways to increase sperm production and produce more testosterone naturally. I have tried many and found some really fantastic natural supplements with good results, and I have unfortunately also tried some bad ones. I have researched this for years, in great detail, even involving lab work, and will share this information with you on a next blog. I will also let you know which products are legit and more on how to boost your testosterone levels naturally with simple foods and certain gym exercises.
